Try Headlight Restoration Before Replacing Them

If you need headlight restoration, contact the professionals at Woodhams Ford Lincoln to see what we can do for you. Of course, you can make it a DIY project if you like, and here are some ways to go about that.

Some folks have had great success with restoring their headlights to original condition using things they have around the house. You can start there, and if these don’t work, move on to something else. Sandpaper can be used to remove scratches from your headlight lenses starting with a rougher grit and moving on to fine grit to polish it off. Don’t be too aggressive with this though because that could cause more harm to the lenses.

Toothpaste on a warm, wet cloth will help polish away scratches, yellowing and cloudiness and can be used on both plastic and glass without causing harm. Store bought headlight restoration kits are a favorite of some and come with everything needed to restore your headlights.

If none of these work, then you may have to consider replacing them.
